Yamuna, the main source of water to Delhi is not fit for drinking anymore. Millions of rupees spent for its uptake have literally gone down in drains. The fate of 600 plus smaller water bodies in and around the capital is no better due indiscriminate mining and water pumping. The silver line though is that people are gradually realizing the importance of maintaining bio diversity and are now keenly taking part in their revival.
